Whether it’s the fresh zing and ‘kick-in-the-throat’ spiciness of an authentic Thai green curry, the sweet and nutty flavours of Pad Thai Noodles, or even the sumptuous coconut and cardamom combination in a beef masaman curry – Thai food is certainly one of the most exciting of Asian Cuisines. A masterful mix of detailed and complex curry pastes (there are, apparently 39 essential ingredients that make up the heart of Thai cuisine) combined with fresh chicken, fish or beef, and packed with chillis, ginger, lemongrass and garlic, the ability to create a decent Thai meal should be a weapon in any gastrosexual’s arsenal.
